MCC Participates in Veterans Video History Project
In the spirit of preserving our American Veterans stories, Mason County Central Middle School is participating in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. The Veterans History Project goal is to preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of service and war. MCC Middle School has kicked off its' mission on November 12, 2012 as we began to gather veteran stories throughout the afternoon of our Veterans Day Program. This student-led event recorded nine veteran stories and is scheduled to record additional stories throughout the school year. The equipment (camera, lighting, wireless microphone, computer, and external storage device) in which MCC Middle School is able to participate in this program was made possible through a matching grant by Great Lakes Energy People Fund and the Dale Rinkevicz Memorial Fund. Look for the edited versions of the interviews to show up on our website soon.
